St Jude's Catholic Primary School - Partnership

Staffing/ Pupil Numbers
Thank you to those parents who have been in to see me or a member of our school staff, to discuss rumours about classes of 43 in KS2 next year! I am pleased to inform you of our pupil numbers for next year and the class organisation for the next academic year. Due to local changes in birth rate our year group cohort numbers have reduced, resulting in single classes for most years. Parents of children in Y4/5 will be informed of their child’s class teacher next week, when all optional SATs papers have been marked.

St. Jude’s Jumping Jacks Nursery
We are pleased to announce that our Nursery will be fully operational from September 2008, providing high quality child care and access to the Early Years Curriculum, for children aged 2 years to 4 years. For more information see attached flyer here.

Good Shepherd Appeal
Our recent appeal (little houses) raised in excess of £100. Mrs. Slattery, Mrs. McGrew and 7 of our children went to the Good Shepherd Mass at the Cathedral and took our donation with them. The Catholic children’s society has been in touch to ask us to extend a huge thank you for such a generous gift. The donations made enable the society to care for and support some of the most vulnerable and excluded children, young people and families in our Diocese. Their work relies almost entirely on the generosity of the Catholic community and therefore cannot function without our contributions. If you would like to get involved in any fundraising activities or find out more about the work of the Catholic children’s Society you can visit their website at :www.cathchild.org or their young supporter’s website at: www.samspage.org. You can also get in touch with Ann Hoggan on 02086682181.

School Group Photos
We have arranged for Mr. Matthew Wild to come into school on Monday 23 June to take the class, sports and Year 6 photographs. Mr. Wild will take the photos and they will be displayed in the school. If you would like order a copy of your child’s photo you will need to complete an order form and the photos will be supplied before the end of term.

Our sports fun day will be held on Friday 4 July. The activities will start at 9.30am. Children are in mixed age teams with 2 team leaders from Y5/6. Each team will have its own logo or ‘identity’. If it is wet the fun day will take place the following Friday 11 July.
