NEW SCHOOL GATES/SECURITY FENCING
Thank you for all the positive comments about our new security fencing. We are very pleased with the finished product and it will help to keep our school site secure during out of school hours. During the day all gates will be kept closed – to provide additional security for your children. Please DO NOT try to use the staff car park to drop off or collect children – unless you have a medical parking permit issued by the school office. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you – to walk from St Philip Howard car park, but this is a small price to pay for your child’s safety and security.
“THANK YOU ! THANK YOU!”
Our Summer Fayre on Saturday 7th June was really successful – thanks to the support you gave to our staff and our PFA committee. We took £3000 on the day and when all invoices and expenses have been paid we expect to have a profit in the order of £2500. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather and the opportunity to watch the arena displays and browse the variety of stalls. Thank you for helping or buying on the day and a special thank you to those parents who brought their child along to dance or to run an activity. Thank you to Father Joe for celebrating Family Mass on Saturday evening at St Philip Howard Church – well done to all who took part and a special thank you to Mrs Slattery and Mrs Pickard for planning the liturgy. Those families who returned for the Family Social, danced into the night and enjoyed a ‘ploughman’s’ meal’ prepared by Mrs Williams and staff from our school. The Ministry Fayre had tables from many of our parish groups – unfortunately families were too busy enjoying the sunshine to spend much time in St Philip Howard Church Hall to view the exhibits.
A Further Opportunity
On Friday 13th June we will be giving you a further opportunity to support our school/Parish Summer Fayre. At 2.45pm we will be holding a 20p cake/sweet/book and toy sale from tables on the KS1 playground – weather permitting. If it is wet we will hold the sale in a classroom. Cakes will be 20p each, bags of sweets 20p, Books 20p and toys 20p. Please support this small scale event by providing your child with some money to spend at the end of the day. We would be grateful for any parental help on the day – for setting up, selling and clearing away – we expect to be ‘sold out’ by 3.30pm.

JUMPING JACKS NURSERY APPLICATION FORM
Please see here a copy of the application form for the new Nursery which some parents did not receive last week with the Nursery Provision Letter. Please accept our apologies for this. If you would like to register a place for September, please return this form as soon as possible, as we expect a high demand for places, particularly for 2 year olds and for extended day places. Our Nursery Information Board will be at Sacred Heart Church this week end – if you know anyone with 2 – 4 year old children, please encourage them to have a look at this information and take a registration form.
STAFFING NEWS
At the end of the term we will be saying a farewell to 2 of our teaching staff: Mrs Brander has decided to take early retirement to enjoy her new role as a grandmother and Miss Connolly will be finishing her first year of teaching and moving-on to a new school. We will miss both of these teachers very much and thank them for all their hard work with our children. Please watch out for further information concerning a “send off” for these teachers! Class organisation and staffing has not been finalised – please be patient and I will let you know ‘who is teaching where’ as soon as I am able to.
KOOL DUDES’ INFORMATION
If you require a place for your child at Kool Dudes for the coming INSET Day on Friday 20 June – please speak to a member of the team to book a place.
Arrangements for the Summer Holidays – Kool Dudes will be open for the summer break from Thursday 24th July to Friday 29th August with the exception of Monday 25th August which is Bank Holiday Monday. We will be open from 8.00am – 6.00pm every day. Kool Dudes will be closed on 1st, 2nd and 3rd September in preparation for the new school term. We will be open as usual on Thursday 4th September for Breakfast Club from 7.30am and for After School Club that evening until 6.00pm.
PLEASE BOOK YOUR PLACES NOW FOR ANY SESSIONS THAT YOU MAY REQUIRE DURING THE SUMMER AND FOR THE START OF THE NEW SCHOOL TERM IN SEPTEMBER.
SCHOOL MEALS PRICE
Good News! There will be no change to the price of school meals in September – regardless of food prices, the Hampshire school meal will remain at £1.90 until April 2009.
LUNCH BOXES
Can parents please NOT send in ice poles for the children to have at lunch time. Due to the hot weather the ice poles melt in the lunch boxes and in some cases have then leaked over the lunches inside. Thank you.
