Our
Mission Statement
"At St Jude’s Catholic School we will help our children live as good Christians, supporting and enabling them to reach their full potential and empowering them to be caring individuals capable of critical independent thought."
Golden
Rules
At St Jude's
School we respect and value all members of our community.
Our "Golden Rules" help us to remember how to treat others with repect.
- Do
be gentle.
Do not push and shove.
- Do
be polite.
Do not call a person names, unless they
like the name.
- Do
be a friend - Ask others to join in your game.
- Do
listen to each other.
Do not interrupt.
- Do
follow instructions.
Do not disobey.
- Understand
it is okay to make mistakes.
Do not tease anyone who does.
- Be
kind, be honest and truthful.
Do not lie or cheat.
- Concentrate
on work.
Do your best.
The
Pupil Promise
As a pupil
at St. Jude's School I will try my best in everything I do and respect
and care for everyone in my school.
I will try to:
- Support
the Christian values of our school.
- Be polite,
helpful and considerate to others and keep the Golden Rules.
- Tell
a grown-up at school if I have a problem or I am worried about anything.
- Try to
think for myself and take responsibility for my actions.
- Behave
sensibly so as to keep us all happy and safe.
- Wear
my school uniform with pride.
The
Parent Promise
We recognise
our responsibility as parents or guardians to be the primary educators
of our children. We ask the school to work in partnership with us, to
enrich our children's lives.
For our part we will try to:
- Encourage
my child to show kindness and consideration to others.
- Support
the Christian values of the school community.
- Talk
to my child about their experiences in school and encourage them to
do their best.
- Give
my child opportunities for home learning and support homework from school.
- Support
the school's policies and guidelines for behaviour.
- See that
my child attends school regularly, on time and suitably equipped and
provide an explanation for any absences.
- Inform
the school of any concerns or problems that might affect my child's
work or behaviour.
- Attend
parent evenings and information meetings and support school events.
- Attempt
to support the Catholic community and school governors in their responsibilities
for maintaining the school buildings in good repair.
The
School Promise
As our part
in the Christian Community, in partnership with the Parish, the School
acknowledges its' responsibilities to support parents in their task of
nurturing their children towards human wholeness.
The School will:
- Treat
your child with dignity and respect , encouraging them to their full
human wholeness.
- Challenge
your child to strive for the highest standard of personal, social, spiritual
and intellectual development and aim for excellence in all they do.
- Provide
a friendly welcome to your child in a secure, stimulating, Christian
environment in which they will enjoy their learning.
- Set,
mark and monitor homework suitable for your child's needs.
- Provide
you with information about your child's attainment and progress and
provide you with opportunities to talk to teachers.
- Keep
you well informed about school policies and activities, through regular
letters and newsletters.
- Send
home an annual report of your child's progress.
- Contact
you if there is a problem with your child's attendance or punctuality.
- Inform
you of any concerns regarding your child's behaviour, work or health.
