The
Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth has published a document called "Safeguarding

YOUR PARISH HAVE A CHILD PROTECTION POLICY?
Do you know what the Diocesan Child Protection Procedures are?
Do you know who is the Bishop's Representative for Child Protection?
How would you respond to a child who tells you he/she is being abused?
What if you are worried about a child or worried about an adult's behaviour
to children in your parish?
Does your parish adhere to good practice as recommended by the Home Office
& Diocesan Guidelines?
Are your volunteers screened and vetted? Do you have the Diocesan Forms?
Could you cope with an adult telling you of their experiences of abuse
in childhood?
What if a convicted child sex offender joined your parish? Do you know
what to do?
Need guidance in setting up a parish child protection policy?
Is your parish doing all she is required to do to create a safer environment
for children and young people?
